Description

The procedure concerns the temporary and occasional exercise of the profession/activity of the shipping agent and is addressed to providers who are licensed and permanently practising the profession/activity in another EU Member State and wish to operate in the Greek territory for a limited period of time.

Conditions

The person concerned must legally practice the profession/activity in question in the Member State of establishment.

The Port Authority must check the establishment used by the person concerned for the first time.

The person concerned must have declared commencement of work at the competent tax office.

The person concerned must not have been convicted of the following offences without a final conviction: deprivation of liberty for espionage, spreading false news, crimes of petition, bribery, corruption, oppression, infidelity, causing a shipwreck with intent, rape, coercion into sexual intercourse, seduction, pimping, exploitation of prostitutes, trafficking in human beings, theft, embezzlement, abstraction, robbery, extortion, fraud, smuggling, violation of the laws on drugs and on the protection of the national currency and the provisions on illegal fishing with explosives, toxins, narcotics, corrosive, chemical and vegetable substances or substances producing electric discharges, for violation of Compulsory Law 192/36 and, in general, to a sentence which has resulted in even partial deprivation of civil rights. In the case of a legal person, it shall be submitted in the name of the legal representative.

    - All supporting documents must be written in Greek. Certificates of participation issued abroad must be accompanied by a simple translation into Greek. If the required equivalent documents/certificates are not issued in a country or if they do not cover all cases, they will be replaced by a formal declaration by the interested party, made before an administrative authority or by an affidavit before a notary or a judicial authority, stating that the specific documents are not issued in that country and that the specific legal situations do not apply to the specific person. The documents issued in accordance with the above may not be submitted after three (3) months from the date of their issue; - The conditions and qualifications of a shipping agent must be met by at least one (1) of the legal or appointed representatives of the legal person, who must be declared to the Port Authority.
