Submission of Application – Solemn declaration of the applicant (article 8 of Law 1599/1986) on the subject: «Announcement of the commencement for practicing the profession of Public Hygiene»
The interested person must hold a degree from a Higher Education Institution (HEI) or the Department of Public Hygiene Technological Educational Institution (TEI) of the domestic or equivalent foreign school.
In case the interested party is a citizen of an EU member state. and has acquired his professional qualifications in another Member State - either as a self-employed person or as an employee, his professional qualifications must have been recognized by the competent body of the country.
The person concerned must not have been irrevocably convicted of a felony or any of the misdemeanors of theft, embezzlement, fraud, extortion, forgery, and grievous bodily harm, breach of drug or ethical provisions.

Tacit approval
In case no response has been provided before the above deadline, it is considered that the application of the interested party has been implicitly accepted (tacit approval) and the profession can be practiced (art. 3 of Law 3919/2011). The applicant, in the aforementioned case of tacit approval, may request a relevant certificate from the administrative authority responsible for issuing the act, in accordance with paragraph 4 of article 10 of 3230/2004 (Government Gazette 44/A/2004).
