Description
The procedure concerns the granting of a producer vendor’s licence to conduct open-air itinerant trade. A producer vendor is defined as a producer registered in the Register of Farmers and Farm Holdings, pursuant to Law 3874/2010 (Government Gazette, Series I, No 151) who is active in the open-air trade of agricultural products exclusively of their own production for sale, and who has been granted a business operating licence by the competent authority. Itinerant trade is the pursuit of an open-air commercial activity by a vendor moving between locations by any type of motor vehicle, trailer, or other means of transport. Vendors do not maintain a specified location where their business activity is conducted, but are constantly in transit unless engaged in a transaction. According to the latest published census of the ELSTAT (Hellenic Statistical Authority), such vendors operate in municipal communities with permanent populations of up to five thousand (5 000) inhabitants. Licences for the respective itinerant commercial activity are granted by the Regional Authorities, subsequent to issuance of a public notice calling for submission of applications. They are intended for the licensing of natural persons who must be registered in the Register of Farmers and Agricultural Holdings pursuant to Law 3874/2010 (Government Gazette, Series I, No 151) as farmers by profession.
