Description
The procedure concerns the issuance of an approval for a breeding unit for laying hens, i.e., hens of the species Gallus gallus, which have reached their laying maturity, and which are bred for the production of eggs that are not intended for hatching. This procedure does not apply (a) to establishments with less than 350 laying hens, (b) to breeding establishments with laying hens that are not for reproduction

If the competent authority does not respond before the above deadline, then the business may operate according to article 14, par.4 of Law (GG 3844/2010 63/ Α/3-5-2010). On this occasion (tacit approval), the applicant may request from the competent authority a formal attestation (article 10, par.4 of Law 3230/2004).
