Description

The procedure refers to the licensing of a private school of primary or secondary education to a natural person or to natural persons participating in associations of persons for the purpose of its legal establishment and operation.

Conditions

The applicant must be cleared as per insurance and tax debts.

The applicant must not have filed for bankruptcy or be in a state of bankruptcy.

The premises of the school unit must have an appropriate building infrastructure in accordance with the provisions of par. 8 of Annex Θ3 of Law No. 4093/2012.

The applicant must not have been convicted or referred for trial by a final judgment of a judicial council in accordance with Articles 8 and 9 of the Civil Service Code (Law 3528/2007 as amended and in force).

The person in charge in cases of associations must not have been dismissed from the position of a civil servant or private teacher for disciplinary reasons.

As a natural person, the applicant must be at least 18 years of age.

Applications for licences shall be submitted only during the first quarter of each year.

Applications must be submitted, either in paper form or digitally by e-mail, to the local Directorates of Education and not directly to the Ministry of Education and must include the documents intended a) for the Department A for Private Schools of the Ministry of Education and b) for the National Organisation for the Certification of Qualifications & Vocational Guidance (EOPPEP) regarding the building inspection.

    Note
    The application for a private school licence must be accompanied by a folder containing the supporting documents addressed to Department A of the Independent Directorate of Private Education and another folder containing the supporting documents for the building inspection to be carried out by the National Organisation for the Certification of Qualifications & Vocational Guidance (EOPPEP). The application may be sent either by conventional mail in paper form or submitted online along with all documents in digital form via the official website of the body.

Application for administrative redress or hierarchical administrative appeal pursuant to article 24 of Law No. 2690/1999. The person concerned may apply either to the administrative authority which issued the act for its revocation or amendment (application for redress) or to the authority which heads the issuing authority for the annulment of the act (hierarchical appeal).
