Description

The procedure petains to the approval of Semen Collection/Storage Centres, where the interested parties collect/store high quality semen for the purpose of marketing and distribution with the ultimate aim of upgrading the genetic material of the countrys livestock.

Sperm storage centers (according to article 5 of PD 130/2006) must: - be constructed or isolated in such a way as to prevent any contact with animals outside the center - be constructed in such a way that storage facilities can be easily cleaned and disinfected.

The SSC should be under the constant supervision of a veterinarian of the center, authorized by the competent authority (PD. 45 G.G.A 111 / 13.5.2011). Conditions of health controls governing intra-Community trade in and imports from third countries of, poultry and hatching eggs, in accord-ance with Council Directive 2009/158 / EC.
