Description

The procedure concerns the announcement of practising as a coach of athletes by graduates of School of Physical Education and Sports Science (SEFA or TEFA), IEK, General Secretariat of Sports (GSS) or UEFA coaching schools. This procedure allows graduates of SEFAA or TEFAA, IEK, General Secretariat of Sports (GSS) or UEFA coaching schools to practise as sports coaches.

Conditions

University degree from a school or department of physical education and sports (SEFAA or TEFAA) with a principal or primary or secondary specialisation in a particular sport or in a sport that the applicant has successfully learned as a course on the basis of the transcript.

Diploma from a coaching school of the GSS or the National School of Coaches and, in the case of graduates of coaching schools of the GSS before 2016, a secondary school leaving certificate.

Vocational education and training diploma at level five (5) of the National Qualifications Framework referred to in Article 25 of Law 4186/2013 or an equivalent qualification awarded to graduates of Vocational Training Institutes (IEK) with a specialisation in the sport or sport sector concerned.

Diploma from a coaching school referred to in Article 31B(5) of Law 2725/1999 of at least UEFA B level as regards football and a secondary school leaving certificate or equivalent or higher qualification.

There must be no irrevocable conviction for the offences referred to in Article 3(1)(b) and (c) of Law 2725/1999.

Submission of the required medical opinions.

Possession of a training diploma or certificate in first aid from an accredited training centre.

Within the period of ninety (90) days, the General Secretariat of Sports may prohibit the pursuit of the profession provided that the person concerned does not obtain the legal conditions or does not obtain assistance from the evidence submitted; after the expiry of that period it is presumed that the person concerned freely pursues the profession of coach (Article 3 of Law No 3919/2011). In such a case, the person concerned may request a certificate from the General Secretariat of Sports (see Article 10 of Law No 3230/2004).
