Description
The procedure concerns the establishment and operation of a Gymnasium or a Sports School in a new building; it is addressed to citizens, businesses and legal persons.

The applicant shall be a TAXISnet code holder.
All building requirements and obligations of the current institutional framework for the establishment must be met:
- The total area of the gym / sports school:
(a) is equal to or greater than 100sqm, not including outdoor and semi-outdoor areas and ancillary areas (storage, lift, boiler room, etc.); and (b) has the necessary structural adequacy.
- The total usable area used by the trainees for training or learning a sport shall be equal to or greater than 70 m2 .
- The minimum height of each space shall be 2,6 m.
- The minimum usable area per trainee shall be 5 m2 .
- The building shall have at least 2 changing rooms with provision for the safety of personal belongings and a minimum area of 50 m2 per trainee.
- Exercise or training of the trainees shall not take place in underground areas which are classified as ancillary by the provisions of the General Building Regulation.
- The operation of the fitness centre does not produce sound emissions and does not cause nuisance to residents.
- There is a bathroom with at least 2 hot and cold water fountains for each changing room.
- There is a plumbing system for cleaning and draining the toilets and sanitary toilets. Natural or artificial ventilation Covering with durable tiles over the entire surface of the walls at least up to a height of 1,70 m.

- Operation of 2 toilets (one mens and one womens) for exercisers for a capacity of up to 80 exercisers and operation of an additional toilet for each additional 40 exercisers.
The Gymnasium or the School of Sport has a safe and harmless electrical installation and full ventilation.
The Gymnasium or the School shall have an active fire protection certificate; unless it has an active fire protection certificate, it shall be ensured that all necessary steps are taken within 30 days of its operation in order to obtain the relevant certificate from the Fire Service.
The Gymnasium or the School of Sports must be housed in a single place, which is owned or leased by the person concerned.
Fulfilment of special building conditions if required by the sports federation.
With regard to the owner or legal representative (for cases of legal entities of private law): The applicant must not have the status of civil servant at a local authority or of an official legal entity of public law; he/she must not have been convicted or tried by final judgment for a felony, theft, embezzlement, fraud, extortion, forgery, disloyalty of a lawyer, bribery, oppression, disloyalty in connection with official duties, misconduct, crime against sexual freedom or economic exploitation of sexual life, trafficking, possession and use of drugs, even if the offence is time-barred
he/she must not have been deprived of his or her civil rights as a result of a conviction
not be subject to deprivation of legal aid (full or partial) or subsidiary legal aid (full or partial) or a combination of the two, on account of mental or psychological disorder
He/she must not have been convicted of the criminal and disciplinary offences of pharmacostimulation pursuant to Articles 128 G and 128 I and 130 of Law 2725/1999, as the three articles were added respectively by Articles 58, 59 and 60 of Law 2725/1999. 3057/2002 (Α΄239).
He must be up to date with regard to tax and social security, and the legal entity of private law. must be up to date with regard to tax and social security.
The Director of the Gymnasium or the School of Sport shall: (a) be responsible for drawing up the rules of procedure and for verifying compliance with all requirements set out in the Rules of Procedure and the relevant provisions and shall be required, and (b) be fully-worked and will not work in more than one gymnastics or sports schools.
The Administrative/Auxiliary Staff of the Gymnasium/Sports School will be commensurate with the extent of the services provided and the number of trainees.
The Gymnasium or the School of Sports as teachers, instructors, sports teachers and trainers must hold a TEFAA degree, of a Greek or an equivalent foreign Institute of Higher Education, or holders of a professional licence from the competent State body; in cases where services relating to the drafting and monitoring of nutritional programmes are provided, the recruitment of a diplomat or a special nutritionian or a special athletic scientist specialising in sporting nutrition is required.
In cases where services related to the preparation and monitoring of nutritional programmes are provided, the recruitment of a diploma in dietary or nutritionian or a special athletic scientist specialising in athletic nutrition is required.
The exclusive purpose of the Gymnasium or the Sports School is the provision of services of physical exercise and sport or learning and the cultivation of recognised or non-sport (resulting from the statutes).
For cases where the Gymnasium or the School of Sport operates a canteen, an operating licence must be available.
For those under 18 years of age, the consent of the holders of parenbtal responsibility shall be required in writing.
Within the area of the Gymnasium or the School, the trade of vitamins and food supplements is not allowed.
In order to register at the Gymnasium or the School, as well as for year-on-year renewal of registration, a special card will be kept, in which a doctor is assured that the person concerned can be trained in the sport to be instructed. The gym managers shall show the cards of the trainees during the audits carried out by the Certification and Control Committee of A. 9 of the P.D. 219/2006.
In the gym or sports school, there must be a first aid kit as well as any other aid necessary for the treatment of injuries.
Starting the operation of the Gymnasium or the School of Sports has been declared the beginning of a trade in the local Tax Office.
The Gymnasium operates within the legal hours of operation that is daily and Saturday from 06.00 to 24.00 and Sunday 10.00 - 24.00.
