Mountain retreats shall be constructed in accordance with the permitted uses and conditions and construction limitations laid down for the area by the general and specific urban and building provisions. For the existing mountain shelters that do not have a building permit, a declaratory act according to article 7 of Joint Ministerial Decision no. 9918/16.05.2023 (B΄3307) must have been issued.

The applicant (manager of the retreat) has not been irrevocably convicted of a felony.

Fulfillment of fire protection requirements in paragraph 12 of Article 4 of Joint Ministerial Decision No 9918/16.05.2023 (B 3307).

Fulfillment of the technical and operational requirements of Joint Ministerial Decision No 9918/16.05.2023 (B 3307).

Good operation of the electricity and sewerage system.

Compliance with the sanitary requirements of the legislation in force.

The retreat manager must have: a. certified mountain and rescue skills, b. certified of first aid knowledge, c. English language language learning certificate, at least level B2 according to the Common European Reference Framework.

Environmental Terms Approval (Not applicable to existing mountain retreats for which a legalisation decision is issued)

  • Application - Solemn Declaration submitted by the Director of the Mountain Retreat, in accordance with the Model of Annex B to Joint Ministerial Decision No 9918/16.05.2023 (B 3307) etc., which is considered as a solemn declaration (Article 8 of Law 1599/1986), showing the details of the applicant for a natural or legal person, the VAT Number and the Public Tax Service (VRD) to which it is subject.
