Submission of Application

Applicants shall have two years of professional experience in a shop selling recent movable monuments or hold a degree in art history or be a scientific professional in relevant museums, provided that at least 5 years have elapsed since the day of cessation of the profession.

They shall have a suitable shop and storeroom, meeting the conditions of article 4 of MD ΥΠΠΟ/ΔΟΕΠΥ/ΤΟΠΥΝΣ//34668 (GG 669/Β/16-4-2008). Shops and warehouses shall be located in cities with established Ministry of Culture services responsible for the protection of historical heritage. In island regions, shops of recent monuments are established only in cities that serve as seats of a Region or a Regional Unit.

Applicants shall not have been recognised as monument collectors and shall not practice a profession related or having been related to the protection of monuments.

Applicants shall not have been irrevocably convicted for felony or for a violation of cultural heritage law or for forgery, bribery, theft, embezzlement or acceptance of proceeds of crime.

6In the case of installation in an apartment building, the interested party must also present the apartment buildings regulations, from which it can be seen that the establishment of a shop is allowed.

7Two copies of the floor plan of the available space and the storerooms at a scale of 1:50, validated by a qualified engineer who shall certify that the required conditions and technical specifications of article of MD ΥΠΠΟ/ΔΟΕΠΥ/ΤΟΠΥΝΣ/43668/16.4.2008 are met. Unless there is no other stricter provisions regarding prerequisites, the spaces of the shop shall meet the following criteria: A) Have a total area of at least 50 square meters B) Have at least 2.5 meters internal free height C) Have an appropriate security system (alarm, etc.) D) Have firefighting and fire protection facilities according to an approved fire study by the Fire Service E) Have adequate lighting and air conditioning and to allow proper cleaning and disinfection, aligned with the prerequisites and rules of good preservation and safety of the movable monuments F) The shop of newer movable monuments and its warehouses are not housed in an underground space, G) The access of the disabled people to the premises of the store is ensuredDrawings/studies by an engineer/architect
