Description

The procedure concerns the approval of the establishment and operation of accommodation facilities for animals, where hospitality, care and – if needed - preventive and therapeutic treatment is provided.

A special independent building is required, outside the city plan at a distance of at least 100 metres from the nearest residence or other premises and spaces (kindergartens, schools, playgrounds, sports fields, gardens, churches, hospitals, or clinics with over 20 beds, venues for social or cultural events and group gatherings in general). The building should have specific spaces for the required functionalities of the installation, according to the specifications defined in the PD 463/1978 and in particular in Article 3 thereof, and should fulfil the sanitary conditions of article 4 of the same PD.

For the approval of the operation: Approval for the establishment must have been previously obtained.

For the approval of the operation: For the issuance of the operation license, the following four (4) numbered books shall furthermore be presented for validation: - Inspection book - Register of diagnosed communicable diseases to be mandatorily declared - Book of performed preventive vaccinations against communicable diseases that must be declared mandatorily, filled-in by type of vaccination - Book of disinfections performed.

For the approval of the operation: Determination: 1. of a veterinarian who will undertake the sanitary supervision and the supervision of the animal accommodation facility, as a scientific manager, and determination of his qualifications, 2. of the animals hosted / to be hosted in the facility, 3. of the facilities and the equipment used

For the approval of the operation: Completion of the configuration and equipment of the facility in accordance with the technical study and Article 3 of PD 463/1978, as amended by Article 14 of Law 3170/2003.

For the approval of the operation: Legitimate status of the declared veterinarian who will undertake the sanitary supervision and the supervision of the animal accommodation facility, as a scientific manager. The Veterinarian must comply with the obligations set out in Article 6 of PD 463/1978.
