This procedure concerns the announcement of the operation of receiving oil residues by tankers and floating craft.

The tankers shall have a valid Certificate of General Inspection or Certificate of Safety, depending on their class, stating a special instruction about the kind of oil residues they are allowed to collect (cargo residues or functional residues)

The tankers shall be equipped with the valid certificates required by their type and class.

There shall be a valid written contract or agreement between the ship owner or operator of the tanker and the land reception facility or the floating separator, for the subsequent delivery of the oil residues to these facilities.

The tankers shall be equipped according to the provisions of this Regulation concerning the protection of the marine environment and the addressing of incidents of sea pollution by oil, as defined by a decision of the Port Authority.

There shall be an approved Instruction Manual of the floating facility by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy / Directorate of Inspections of Commercial Ships (DEEP).

The tankers shall observe the customs legislation.

After the expiration of of the fifty (50) day deadline, it is presumed that the profession is practiced freely (article 3 of Law 3919/2011 (Government Gazette 32 / AD / 02-3-2011). The applicant may request by the competent administrative authority (competent Port Authority) an attestation according to par. 4 ed. c of article 10 of 3230/2004 (Government Gazette 44 / AD / 11-2-2004).
