The interested party must declare the scientifically responsible persons for the optical and contact lens store and his replacement.
The interested body (applicant legal or natural person) must not have been irrevocably convicted of a felony or any of the misdemeanors of theft, embezzlement, fraud, extortion, forgery, grievous bodily harm, breach of drug laws or ethical provisions.
The interested party must own or rent the store
The optical store should operate in an independent and detached house of at least 12 sq.m. of which 6 sq.m. constitute the laboratory.
The building permit must indicate the use of the building or areas of the building for which the permit is requested or in any case that is indicated in the identity of the building according to no. 5 of Law 4067/2012 (Government Gazette 79 / A / 2012)
The space must meet the conditions of installation and operation of the machines to ensure the health and integrity of employees (safety relay).
The site must meet fire protection rules
The list of machines, tools and instruments must bear the CE mark, in accordance with the provisions in force, both for the optical store and the corresponding ones in case the store also operates a contact lens section.
More specifically, the optical store must have:
• 2 lens grinding wheels (thin - thick)
• Hand diamond for engraving lenses
• 2 lens cutters
• 1 electric drill for GRIFF constructions

• 1 anvil
• 1 vise
• 2 hammers
• 2 files (one iron and one for plastics and cellulosic)
• 6 limits
• 2 tweezers
• 2 pliers for metal frames

• 1 lens meter (internal reading or electronic)

• caliper
• set with screws for metal and plastic frames.
In case there is a contact lens and optometry department, the store must have:
• slit lamp.
• keratometer or refractive keratometer or topographic
• optical acuity measurement board (luminous optotype or optotype projector or LCD display with optotype panels)
• Jackson cross cylinders
• Shadow
• test lens case and test frame or tax stone
• Stereoscopic action test
• Ishihara paintings (color perception test).
The scientifically responsible employee of the company should hold the Certificate of Announcement, which shows that she/he meets the legal requirements for practicing the profession of optician or optometrist
In the case of operation of a contact lens section in the optical store, the interested party must have a license to sell and apply contact lenses
The scientifically responsible employee must declare responsibly that he accepts his appointment as "scientifically responsible" and state the days and hours in which he will be in person at the store in question.
The scientifically responsible employee must be a graduate of the specialty of optometry or optics - optometry of the Higher Technological Educational Institutions (ATEI ) of the domestic or foreign country.
In case the interested party is a citizen of an EU member state and has acquired his professional qualifications in another Member State - either as a self-employed person or as an employee, his professional qualifications must have been recognized by the competent authority of the country.
If the interested party is a legal entity, it must not have been declared bankrupt
The applicant must be a TAXISnet code holder.

Tacit approval
After the expiration of the three (3) months deadline, the interested party operates the said laboratory freely (art. 3 of Law 3919/2011, Government Gazette 32 / A / 2011). The interested party, in the case of tacit approval, can request the relevant certificate of operation from the administrative authority responsible for the issuance of the act, according to par. 4 of article 10 of law 3230/2004 (Government Gazette 44 / A / 2004).
