Description
The procedure concerns the approval of the activities of Control and Certification Bodies of Organic Agricultural Products, which certify the operators that belong to the system of organic production of agricultural products and food, as provided in Regulation (EC) 834/2007 of the European Council and Regulations (ΕC) 889/2008 and 1235/2008 of the European Commission («Regulation»).

The applicant shall have a TAXISnet username and password.
There must be:
a) An exact description of duties that the control body is allowed to perform and the conditions under which it may perform these duties.
b) An effective and substantial coordination between the competent authority and the control body.
The criteria for the authorization (approval) of the body shall be as shown below:
(a) they shall have a standardized control procedure, along with a detailed description of the control measures and precautions which the body undertakes to impose on enterprises subject to its control;
(b) they shall have measures in place, which the control body intends to take if irregularities and / or infringements emerge
The control body shall have the experience, the equipment and the infrastructure needed for carrying out the tasks assigned.
Laboratories shall operate in accordance with the ISO standards prescribed in Article 12, par.2 of Regulation 882/2004
The control body must be accredited in accordance with the European standard EN 45011 or the ISO/IEC Guide 65 “General Requirements for Bodies Operating Product Certification Systems”, in the version recently published in the Official Gazette of the European Communities, C se-ries, and approved by the competent authorities.
There must be evidence that the control body has sufficient qualified and experienced staff.
There must be evidence that the control body is impartial and unaffected by a potential conflict of interest with regard to the performance of the tasks assigned to it.
